The Congress MLA from Jasdan, Kunwarji Bawadia, has been arrested by the CID from Rajkot in connection with alleged misappropriation in acquiring land. Bawadia was arrested by officers of the CID (Crime) Jamnagar from the Rajkot Circuit House on Monday.

According to sources, the MLA had been facing a charge of acquiring a land plot for an education trust at Janada village by presenting fake documents. The case in this regard had been registered with the Jamnagar CID (Crime) office. Bawadia is one of the trustees of the education trust. “Bawadia has been arrested from Rajkot,” a CID officer said.

Sources said Bawadia had allegedly produced fake documents including bogus documents in the name of Amrapar village Sarpanch Savitaben. He allegedly faked the signature of Savitaben to get the land from the state government at a token price.
