After getting the clue about his movements, the police nabbed Ghanshyam as soon as he moved out of the Fatehpura taluka panchayat office.

“He had played a crucial role in planning the robbery and since he was aware of the consequences,he was absconding soon after his name surfaced in the case,” said the LCB Police Sub Inspector B V Barad.

The robbery at the house of Mehsana Deputy Collector M K Damor at Padedi Adod village of Santrampur taluka had occurred on April 7. As part of the investigations,Santrampur police had arrested Rakesh Waghela,a resident of Nani Bhugedi village in Dahod district, and Bharat Charel,a resident of Sanjeli in Dahod for their involvement in the robbery. It was during their interrogation that Ghanshyam’s name came up.

Waghela and Charel had told the police that Suresh Shaukji Dabhi,a distant relative of Damor residing at Vaniyagadhi village in Dahod, had tipped them about the wealth at the Deputy Collector’s residence.
