Cong seeks details of land given to trusts named after Devi Lal

Reacting to the allegations levelled by the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) on the release of five acres of land leased to the Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust.

Reacting to the allegations levelled by the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) on the release of five acres of land leased to the Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust, the Haryana Congress on Thursday went on the offensive, demanding to know from the INLD how much land had been given to various trusts named after Chaudhary Devi Lal and his family members during the Chautala regime in the state.

Congress legislator Anand Singh Dangi asked former Chief Minister Om Parkash Chautala to make public the details of the land allotted to trusts named after Devi Lal and his family members and added that Chautala should also come clean on the terms and conditions under which the Gram Panchayats and Urban Local Bodies of the state gave land.

Dangi said that people wanted to know about the real contribution and charity works undertaken by such trusts.

Chandigarh: THE war of wits between Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and his detractor, power minister Captain Ajay Singh Yadav, flared up again on Thursday after the chief minister canceled his visit to Rewari for a function organised by Yadav.

Yadav,Rewari MLA,said he had no idea why the CM could not reach the venue where an ROB was to be inaugurated. He refused to comment any further.

Sources, however, claimed that other than going for the function,Hooda had planned several meetings with local Congress leaders — majority of whom were against Yadav.

According to sources close to the power minister,Yadav — taking this as a move by the chief minister to gather support against him — contacted the Congress high command, which reportedly intervened. It asked Hooda not to hold meetings with other party leaders. This, however, seems to have led to the chief minister to cancel the entire visit.
