Meanwhile, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has asked party workers to go all out against the opposition parties to salvage the party’s image in the wake of the Ripun Bora episode. While Gogoi has dropped Bora from his cabinet, APCC president Bhubaneswar Kalita has refused to take any disciplinary action against him.
On the other hand, the opposition parties are trying to cash in on the Bora episode in order to whip up a campaign against the ruling party, ahead of the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. “While only one Ripun Bora has been arrested, there are many more Boras functioning as ministers in the Gogoi government,” said the AGP’s Chandra Mohan Patowari, leader of the opposition.
