Congress declines to comment on Amar resignation

Congress refused to comment on the resignation of Amar Singh from party posts saying it was between him and the Samajwadi Party.

Congress on Wednesday refused to comment on the resignation of Amar Singh from party posts saying it was between him and the Samajwadi Party.

“The resignation is between him and his party. We have no comments on the issue,” party spokesperson Jayanthi Natarajan told reporters here when asked about Singh quitting all party posts in the SP.

Natarajan refused to answer queries on speculation that Singh was joining the Congress.

Singh resigned from the posts of general secretary,spokesman and member of the parliamentary board of the SP.

He was an AICC member before joining the SP.

The Supreme Court Monday issued notice on a plea seeking an independent and expeditious investigation into the June 12, 2025, crash of an Air India Boeing Dreamliner in Ahmedabad, which killed 260 people. The bench also termed as “unfortunate” media reports which indicated that “pilot error” was to blame for the crash, purportedly quoting some preliminary findings by the AAIB.
