The Himachal Pradesh Congress on Wednesday expelled 45 leaders, mostly of district level, for working against the party’s official candidates in the recently concluded Assembly elections.State Congress chief Viplov Thakur took strong note of anti-party activities of these leaders and expelled them from the party for six years, a release from the party said.
“These rebels caused great harm to the party by working against the official candidates in the just concluded Assembly poll and have attracted severe disciplinary action,” the HPPCC chief said.
Those expelled were mostly district-level party office bearers hailing from Kullu, Anni, Thural, Bamsan, Hamirpur, Jubbal Kotkhai, Chopal and Shimla Assembly constituencies, the release said.
