Congress leader Jayesh Patel has demanded police protection after he allegedly received threat to his life from Bharatiya Janata Party MLA and Baroda Dairy chairman Madhu Srivastava. Patel has submitted an application for the same to the J P Road police station in Vadodara, stating some unidentified persons came in a car and threatened his driver. According to the application, the four identified themselves as Srivastava’s men and asked his driver Ashok Patel, who was returning from Waghodia, to stop. They told the driver that the Congress leader should stop speaking against Srivastava or he will have to pay a heavy price. It further said the driver’s licence was taken away by them. Later on Friday, Patel said that Srivastava was “after him” as he had leveled the charges of corruption and unnecessary expenses made by him in the Narmada Neer project of Baroda.
