During his three-day narco test in Gandhinagar, he revealed that some policemen and bootleggers too had benefited from his 'money multiplying scheme'.
Among those benefited were a Jaipur police head constable,
Mahavir Singh, who amassed Rs 3 crore, and Sudhir Tamaichi, a bootlegger of Naroda Patiya, who made around Rs 35 lakh, Jadeja reportedly claimed in his narco analysis test, the report of which was out on Thursday.
Police sources said that Jadeja claimed to have amassed Rs 20 crore as a personal profit from the multi-crore swindle. He further claimed that many others had 'earned' more than him, like one Manu Parmar from Naroda Patiya got Rs 80 lakh in return so did Viren Didawala in Ahmedabad. He revealed that many people did get their money back.
A senior police official said: "He accepted that he used to sit at the Shikoter Mataji temple as also at his house and that some devotees used to come and touch his feet taking him to be the priest. He claimed that he got the idea to cheat people from this."
He started a Rs 200 multi-member scheme on January 20 and got huge profits instantly. He then appointed 15 agents and paid Rs 1 lakh to each as salary, the source said, adding, "He also claimed that all investors got their profits in full amount until March 20."
According to the report, said the officer, Jadeja confessed that till March this year, he had purchased a land worth Rs 11 crore on a fake name of Imam Bapabhai, five motorcycles, jewelleries worth Rs 12 lakh and five cars. He reportedly confirmed that his brother Kanti Jadeja bought acres of land across Gujarat and had invested in shops, godowns, jewellery and other valuables.
He also claimed to have tried to reason out the problem with a few people when he was not in a position to pay further like advocate Raghuram Chhara, Mahavir Singh, Chatraram and Sumersingh, but nothing had worked out. On May 30, he again met for settlement with Rs 1 crore and Rs 98 lakh at Payal Hotel in Ahmedabad, but there also nothing could be sorted out. When he left for home with his wife early in the morning, the CID arrested them.
Jadeja, however, denied that he and his agents ever went out of Gujarat to collect money. The police official said, "He claimed that people from all over the country used to come and meet him at the temple. He went out only for promotional shows in Bhavnagar, Pune and Barmer."
The narco analysis was done on July 17 and officials said that his response to the test was limited.
