Sportking Institute of Fashion Technology celebrated its first convocation ceremony amid much fanfare on Saturday.
85 students of apparel marketing and merchandising, garment manufacturing and technology, fashion designing and knitwear designing courses were conferred their diplomas on the occasion.
The graduates, some of who had come from far flung places such as Kanpur, Dehradun, Jammu, Sri Ganganagar (Rajasthan) and Shahjahanpur (UP), were awarded their diplomas by Dr S M Kant, director of the Youth Welfare Department in Panjab University, Chandigarh.
Sunil Puri, former SIFT director, along with the faculty and members of the managing committee were also present at the convocation ceremony.
Dr Surabhi Mahajan, registrar of SIFT, welcomed Dr Kant.
He awarded the diplomas to the students and congratulated them on their success and motivated them for a bright future ahead. Chairman Raj Avasthi and Anjali Avasthi, president of the institute also inspired the alumini on the occasion.
