Despite winning five of the seven seats in the September 10 Assembly bypolls the BJP continues to make a dismal show in the cooperative sector. The partys former minister C D Patel has lost to the Congress for the second time in a fortnight. Patel,who had lost miserably in the election to the Kheda District Co-operative Bank on September 8,once again tasted defeat in the elections to the Gujarat State Co-operative Consumers Federation Ltd. The election results declared on Wednesday revealed that all the 10 Congress candidates on the panel of Narhari Amin won uncontested. Amin was elected along with the others for a three-year term. Patel,who contested for the B Category,which has two seats,lost to Congress nominees Kantibhai H Patel of Kheda District Agro Producers and Processors Co-operative Union and Pannaben J Chauhan of Kalol Women Consumers Co-operative Stores Union. The winners in the A Category for the 10 seats are: Narhari Amin (Gujarat University),Popatlal Patel (Mehsana), Khemabhai Patel (Sabarkantha),Lilachandbhai Patel (Mehsana),Samatbhai Odedra (Porbandar),Rameshbhai Shah (Surendranagar),Vinod Patel (Anand), Babubhai Patel (Banaskantha),Prakash Soni (Godhra) and Gautam Sanghvi (AMC).
