Cop probing Somalian pirates gets threat call

The recent arrest of 14 Somalian pirates at Una coast has gotten murkier with the threat call.

The police officer probing the case of 14 Somalian pirates who were apprehended at Una coast recently has received a ‘threat call’ with the caller stating that the police should release the pirates or face consequences,top officials said on Sunday.

“The investigating officer of Una police station who has been probing the pirate case has received a threat call. The caller told police inspector BS Limbachiya that the pirates should be released or else they would face consequences” said SP Incharge Jungadh,Shobha Bhutada.

“We are yet to verify the identity of the caller and from where the call was made,” she said.

Seventeen persons were apprehended off the sea coast near Nandan village at Unna on June 19,out of which 14 were Somalian pirates and three were citizens of Yemen whose boat was hijacked by the pirates.
