Two men, one of them a GRP constable, allegedly raped a teenage girl while she was waiting for a Delhi-bound train at Gorakhpur railway station on Tuesday.
While one of the accused was arrested on Wednesday, the constable is yet to be identified. The forensic report of the girl has not been released as yet. A case against the accused was registered at Gorakhpur GRP police station on Wednesday.
According to the Senior Sub-Inspector of Gorakhpur GRP, Manish Pandey, the 18-year-old girl, who belongs to Ballia district, left her home on Monday after she was harassed by her family members. She took the train on the same day and reached Gorakhpur late on Tuesday night.
In the FIR, the girl stated that she was waiting for a Delhi-bound train at the station when a youth, Abhishek Dubey of Chiluatal area in Gorakhpur, who also had to catch the same train, met her. He lured her to have food outside the station.
The youth took the girl to the Railway Parcel House behind the platform and raped her. Thereafter, a constable arrived there and also raped the girl. According to Pandey, the victim informed the Gorakh-nath police station around noon. The policemen soon informed their GRP counterparts as the incident had taken place within station premises.
All the GRP constables on night duty when the incident took place have been summoned for identification parade on Thursday.
