Raiganj: Five policemen and same number of persons were injured on Friday in a clash which ensued when the cops tried to stop people from helping the examinees in cheating during an ongoing board examination in NorthDinajpur district. A group of people had gathered outside Chiklibari High School in Goalpokhar and were passing notes to students who were appearing for the Madhyamik (class ten) board exams. On getting information, a police team led by Islampur area sub-divisional police officer SN Gupta rushed to the spot and tried to prevent those who were helping the examinees. In retaliation, the group of people attacked the team with stones leaving Gupta and four other cops injured. Soon after this, the police lathicharged to disperse the crowd and arrested three persons.
