With several rumours and theories associated with Lashkar-e-Toiba bomb expert Abdul Karim Tunda in the past,Delhi Polices Special Cell is not taking any chance to confirm they have got the right man. Police sources said they might now conduct DNA profiling of Tundas family to confirm his identity. Arrested LeT terrorist Tunda had planned attack in Delhi before CWG There have been several theories about Tundas arrest in distant countries in the past. In 2000,a news item said Tunda was killed. But he was back in the radar five years later when one Abdul Razzak Masood,who was arrested by Special Cell,revealed he had met Tunda in December 2003. In July 2006,Kenyan police claimed they have arrested a terrorist named Tunda. But it was a case of mistaken identity. In Tundas case,his left arm has been blown off,his face matches with the photos that were released and when interrogated,he revealed crucial information about the cases he has been involved in the past, a police source said. Based on the above points,we know that it is him,but since the technology is available to ascertain and establish his identity,we will go for a DNA profiling test. When the two DNA structures match,his identity will be established. Tundas brother is here in India,we will call him if the need be, a police official said. After Tunda left home,his wives and children also went missing He dismissed rumours about Tunda. They were on the basis of the information from a distant land,but now he is physically present before us. We do not have any doubt that he is Tunda,but we will probably go in for the DNA test to make our case stronger. Also since he has been absconding for so long,a DNA test to make sure that its him should be carried out, the police said.
