  • The Chhattisgarh Government has tightened security in the Maoist-affected area of Bastar after the Naxalite call for observance of a martyrs’ week between July 28 and August 3.

IG (Bastar) R K Vij said the security forces will be on a high alert. “The Naxalite cadres are sure to propagate their ideology in remote Bastar region during the week, additional security forces have been deployed to prevent this. As there have been attacks on Salwa Judum activists and camps over the past few months we are taking all possible measures to thwart such incidents,” Vij added.
