  • THE police shot dead a domesticated camel suffering from hydrophobia in Talala town on Wednesday.

Police said the animal’s master had informed them that the camel had gone mad after it was bitten by a dog a day before. The dog was also suffering from hydrophobia.

The owner told the police that the animal was roaming freely and might prove to be a danger. The police immediately contacted the veterinary officer, and after obtaining the go-ahead, decided to shoot the animal.
