The Shopian killing has attracted the attention of Chief Minister who termed the acts as ghastly saying it is unfortunate the stony silence was witnessed regarding yesterdays unfortunate incident in Shopian area where a man along with his three year old innocent child was killed. It is politics of hypocrisy, Omar Abdullah said at function in Radio Kashmir with out naming the separatists on Friday. If this crime would have been committed by security forces or the boy coming under a Army vehicle these elements would have raised all hue and cry. But this time they have preferred not to utter a word. No call of Shopian Chalo,Lal Chowk Chalo and no calendar of hartals has been given on this gruesome incident, why? Omar questioned. A death is a death and murder,a murder. He said that killing of a three year old is a gross violation of human rights but it has to be measured by equal standards. Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti along with Shopian MLA,visited the Awan family in Kellar on Friday to express sympathy with the bereaved family.
