  • Tuesday was an embarrassing day for the BSP. With the ruling party short of majority in the UP Legislative Council, a Bill tabled by it was turned down and three others referred to the select committee.

The Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar Samajik Parivartan Sthal (Protection and Maintenance) Bill was referred to the select committee of the House along with two others, while the UP SC & ST Commission Amendment Bill 2007 was turned down by a voice vote.
