On the first day of counselling to engineering courses, Punjab Engineering College remained the hot choice of students with a majority of them opting for computers, electronics and IT branches. The students up to all-India rank 12,000 in AIEEE were called on Friday.
All the seats under computers and electronics category were filled by afternoon following which the students were seen preferring the IT stream. Experts in the field stated that the trend appeared to be similar to the previous years.
After the seats at PEC were full students turned to UIET and soon most of the seats in both computers as well as electronics branch got filled.
