A counter complaint has been filed in the Sunday night’s incident involving an IAS officer’s son and a Panchkula businessman. Zorawar Singh Aujla, son of the former MC Commissioner, who was booked yesterday for allegedly assaulting Vijay Garg today filed a case against Garg for picking up a quarrel with him and intimidating him.
The police said Garg has been booked under Sections 323, 506 and 34 of the IPC on the basis of Zorawar’s complaint. On the other hand, Zorawar and three others were booked yesterday on the complaint of Garg for assaulting him.
Both the sides were having separate parties going on at the same venue — Black Magic discotheque in DT Mall at IT Park — when Zorawar reportedly had a verbal argument with Garg over an issue. The latter complained to the police that Zorawar assaulted him outside the venue along with his two friends while gunman fired three shots in the air to terrorise him. The Manimajra police had arrested Zorawar, his two friends Ravinder Singh and Maninder Singh and his gunman Charanjeet Singh on Garg’s complaint.
Was the police trying to hush up matter?
The Chandigarh Police swear by its transparent functioning system, however, some questions put it under scanner in the case involving the son of an IAS officer. Not only did the press release issued by the Public Relation Office of the police leave out the case involving former MC commissioner’s son from the briefs yesterday, there were also questions on the ‘softness’ the police showed towards the accused as they missed to book the accused under the Arms Act for endangering the life of people by firing in a public place or the molestation charges alleged by the complainant.
