Couple elopes,boy’s house looted

A Looting incident in Munwada village of Pavi Jetpur taluka in Vadodara district has sent the police into a tizzy.

A Looting incident in Munwada village of Pavi Jetpur taluka in Vadodara district has sent the police into a tizzy. Family members of a couple,who eloped on Saturday,have accused each other for orchestrating the loot of Rs 53,000 from the boy’s house.

According to the police,the incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday when some 20 people armed with swords,ransacked the house of Baki Ganpat Baria,the boy’s mother.

Sub-Inspector R P Pargi said: “According to the complaint lodged by Baki,after her son Vikram eloped with Shakun (18),the girl’s father Laxman Baria,uncle Arvind,and several others stormed the house and looted Rs 53,000 from the safe. The accused took the money and allegedly dragged Vikram’s 16-year-old sister Varsha by her hair and slapped her.”

Pargi said Laxman had filed a cross-complaint alleging that Vikram had abducted Shakun.

Elsewhere,the police have lodged a case of abduction against Vikram.

“The girl’s father has alleged that Vikram had abducted her daughter two days ago,” said Pargi.

The police said,according to the family members,Shakun and Vikram were having an affair. The police have detained Arvind,Laxman and Baki Baria for questioning.
