Court for mediation between Khanna kin, live-in partner

The Bandra metropolitan magistrate court on Tuesday suggested that the dispute between the late actor Rajesh Khanna's family members and Anita Advani, who claims to have been Khannas's live-in partner, could be resolved amicably through mediation.

Anita has claimed in her complaint that Khanna's family evicted her from his bungalow Aashirwad in Bandra (West), on November 8. She has sought an order restraining Khanna's family from "dispossessing or in any other manner disturbing the possession of the aggrieved person from the shared household whether or not the respondent has a legal or equitable interest in the shared household". She claims that her eviction from the bungalow would attract provisions of the Domestic Violence Act, 2005.

Speaking to The Indian Express, Anita's lawyer Madhukar Shetty said, "Magistrate S S Deshpande today said the disputing parties can resolve their disputes in an amicable manner. He has asked both sides to make their position clear on the issue of mediation."

The magistrate has also asked Khanna's wife Dimple Kapadia, daughters Twinkle and Rinke, and son-in-law Akshay Kumar to appear in court on December 4.
