A court here has directed the Allahabad police to lodge an FIR under proper sections of IPC and SC/ST Act against Independent MLA from Kunda Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiyya,Samajwadi Party’s candidate for Legislative Council elections from Pratapgarh Akshay Pratap Singh and five of their supporters in a case of kidnapping and intimidation.

On Monday, the court was acting on a petition filed by Raj Kumar, who worked as a driver for Raghuraj Pratap Singh for 12 years. When I did not get justice from the police,I moved the court, said Raj Kumar, who had alleged that at the behest of the two leaders, five of their supporters had kidnapped him at gunpoint near Phaphamau bridge in Allahabad on July 26,2009. Raja Bhaiyya apparently wanted the driver, who had quit his job with the MLA,to continue working for him.

The court has asked the Soraon police to keep it informed about the progress of the investigation after lodging the FIR.
