CPM demands probe into alleged rape of woman in Kulgam

The Jammu and Kashmir unit of CPI(M) today demanded a probe into the alleged rape of a woman in south Kashmir's Kulgam district.
"Let the culprits be identified and brought to book," said CPI(M) state secretary M Y Tarigami.
Tarigami lashed out at police saying they should not have made public the medical report of the woman as it affects her dignity.
On Friday, the police released the medical report of the 32-year-old woman who had alleged kidnapping and rape by two men in uniform on July 19.
The report said there were no marks of violence on her body.
On Saturday, the husband and the mother-in-law of the woman claimed before police that she suffered from mental illness and was at her home on the day she alleged she was sexually abused.
