In a crackdown on illegal sale of railway tickets,the Commercial Department of the Western Railway (WR),along with Railway Protection Force,raided a travel agency in Malad West and recovered tickets (amounting to Rs 80,262,28) printed from various PRS centres,cancelled tickets (Rs 29,491) and Rs 23,600 in cash.

WR chief spokesperson Shyam Sunder Gupta said they received complaints that tickets were sold by the travel agency illegally. A case has been registered against the owner of the agency after the raid on Thursday. Any agent/travel company can sell tickets only after prior permission from the railway.
