Create opportunities for skilled manpower

The finance minister called on to the industry to reap the “demographic dividend in full measure”

For creating opportunities in a young,aspiring India,industry will have to come together with the government to train workforce and provide skills while improving job opportunities and productivity,finance minister Pranab Mukherjee today said here at a CII function.

The finance minister called on to the industry to reap the “demographic dividend in full measure” by creating opportunities for the skilled manpower while taking “a few large sustainable skill development initiatives to meeting the National Skill Development Corporation target of 150 million skilled person”.

“The success of our strategy for inclusive development and,in fact,the very sustainability of the growth momentum in the coming years depends critically on the availability of skilled manpower,” Mukherjee said while speaking at a CII function. The FM urged CII to take lead in at least 5-10 sectors in setting-up sector skill councils including in manufacturing,healthcare and mining.
