Cybage and Cognizant scored easy wins over Tech Mahindra and Amdocs respectively in the ongoing Cybage Inter-IT tournament at the PYC Hindu Gymkhana ground on Sunday.

In the first match at the PYC Hindu Gymkhana, Tech Mahindra won the toss and elected to bat on a pitch that aided the batsmen more than the bowlers. Pushkar Ogale hit the Cybage bowlers for nine fours in a quickfire 41 runs that he scored off 38 balls. He was ably assisted by Vineet Pathak who made 26 and Sagar Das who made 30 runs. The opening partnership between Pushkar Ogale & Sagar Das was of 70 runs in 57 balls Riding on good scores from the batsmen Tech Mahindra posed a decent 141 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their stipulated 20 overs. Sagar Kudale took a hattrick as he scalped 4 wickets for just 18 runs.

In reply, the Cybage batsmen also looked in good touch as they began making the Tech Mahindra bowlers and fielders chase the ball all over the park. Prateek Pandit scored 35 runs while he was supported by Santosh Surve (24 runs) and Shaiju Thomas (21 runs). The opening partnership between Vishwajeet Mishra and Santosh Surve - of 51 runs in 29 balls - laid the foundation as they managed to win the match with 4 overs and 5 wickets to spare.

In the other match that was played at the same venue, Cognizant defeated Amdocs by 50 runs when they failed to reach the total of 148 set for them by Cognizant, as they were bowled out for 98 runs in just 17 overs.
