Express News Service April 17 Additional Sessions Judge SP Hayatnagarkar granted anticipatory bail to six policmen attached to the Warje police station in the warje custodial death case. Police sub-inspector Ramdas Shelke,head constable Ramchandra Kore and constables Atul Menge,Prashant Pawar,Dattatray Narale,and Mahesh Kutal were granted anticipatory bail. The prosecution had demanded for police custody of the accused to recover the stick and the belt used for allegedly beating Amol Kuchekar in police custody,which led to his death on March 6. Dalit organisations protested against his alleged custodial death and demanded that a murder case be registered against the accused.The court ordered the accused to be present daily between 1 pm to 3 pm at the CID office till the investigations in the case are completed. Also the court said that the applicant shall not leave the jurisdiction of the CID, crime branch till investigation is over and without prior permission of the court. Investigation officer shall complete the investigation as earliest as submit report of final,or charge sheet as before the concern court having jurisdiction,the court said.
