Cut and paste on Bhushan CD: Chandigarh CFSL

This contradicts the first report of the CFSL in New Delhi that said it had found no tampering and that the 1.55-minute CD showed no “abrupt change in speech signal”

The Central Forensic Sciences Laboratory,Chandigarh, has said that the CD purportedly carrying a conversation involving Shanti Bhushan,Amar Singh and Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav, has evidence of “cut and paste” of excerpts of conversations, sources said.

This contradicts the first report of the CFSL in New Delhi that said it had found no tampering and that the 1.55-minute CD showed no “abrupt change in speech signal.” Shanti Bhushan and son Prashant Bhushan have claimed, citing reports of a private lab in Hyderabad and a US-based expert, that the CD was doctored.

The Delhi Police Special Cell, investigating the case, had sent the CD to the Chandigarh CFSL last Tuesday for a second opinion.

“There is editing of conversations,” said a source.

S K Jain,a voice analyst working in the CFSL,conducted the tests on the CD and submitted his report to the Delhi Police.
