Serial killer Mohan Kumar arrested on the charge of murdering 19 women has confessed to killing one more woman by giving cyanide capsule, police said on Monday. He had told the police during interrogation that his twentieth victim was Poornima, a 35 year-old music teacher from Bekur under Manjeshwar police station limits. Mohan Kumar, who was nabbed on October 21 for killing 19 women after luring them with the promise of marriage, has been in police custody since then.

Kerala opposes plea for CBI probe in Muthoot case

Kochi: The Kerala government on Monday informed the high court that it had an ‘open mind’ on the investigation of the murder of Muthoot group of companies scion Paul Muthoot George but opposed a CBI probe. This submission was made by Director General of Prosecutions V S Govindan Nair when a petition by Muthoot Group chairman M G George Muthoot seeking CBI probe into his son’s murder came up before Justice M Sasidharan Nambiar.
