  • Nearly a week after undergoing stemcell treatment in Germany, former minister of information and broadcasting Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi is back and has been admitted to the Indraprastha Apollo Hospital again.

Back in room number 2608 on the sixth floor where he had spent more than a year before leaving for Germany, nothing seems to have changed for Dasmunsi — for now at least.

“If at all the stemcell surgery leads to any improvement in his case, clinically it will be visible only after two-three months,” said Dr Vineet Suri, consultant, neurology, Apollo Hospital.

The 62-year-old minister, was flown to Germany last week after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh advised the family to try the stemcell therapy.

After 60 days, a team of German doctors will arrive to monitor his condition.

dasmunshi treatment in germanyBy: sushil verma | 12-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward One question that comes to everyone's mind is who paid for the expensive stemcell treatment of Mr.Dasmunshi in Germany. Did he/his family or poor Indian taxpayers paid the bill? Some people are just more costly to the nation than others.
