Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi has been selected outstanding parliamentarian for the year 2007.

A committee headed by Speaker Somnath Chatterjee and including External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha K Rahman Khan and Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha Jaswant Singh as members, chose the five-term Lok Sabha member for the honour. Dasmunsi represents Raiganj in West Bengal. He was first elected to the Lok Sabha in 1971.
