The 21-year-old daughter of IAS officer Pradeep Shukla, an accused in National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) scam, was arrested at the IGI airport on Wednesday evening for allegedly travelling on a forged US visa, officials said.
The accused, identified as Poulumi Pavini Shukla, was apprehended by the officials at the immigration desk when she approached them for a clearance on Wednesday evening.
Shukla was carrying two passports, one which expired and the other one issued in August 2012.
After being arrested on Wednesday, she was produced before a duty magistrate at Dwarka court who let her off on a bail.
Police officials said Shukla was not cooperating in the investigations. She told the officials that she was a student of mathematics at Pennsylvania university in Philadelphia, USA.
"While her old passport has travel stamps of various countries, the new one only had this visa, which was found to be forged by the immigration authorities," said a senior official.
