Football heartthrob David Beckham is all set to launch his men’s underwear range named ‘Homme’ and says that the collection is inspired by Italian fashion mogul Giorgio Armani.
The 36-year-old star, who was the spokes model for Armani’s underwear line for four years, says that he has been wanting to launch his own range for years, reported Contactmusic.
“I have had the idea of doing a body wear collection for some time now. The push to do something of my own really came as a result of my collaboration with Armani.
“With my team we have spent time working on the fit,the fabric and the style to ensure the product looks and feels the very best and I am hugely proud of the end result,” said the star athlete.
But his mother is not keen on him modelling his range, said Beckham, himself a father of three sons.
“I can’t wait to show people the collection, although I’m not sure my mum will be too happy seeing a billboard image of me in underwear again,” said Beckham.
Following in the footsteps of his designer wife,Victoria,David, plans to focus on fashion and beauty ventures now.
“I want to get involved in the process and have an influence over the end product. Whether it’s with Adidas or Coty,I have always worked very closely with them to give my input. Now my focus is on bodywear and fragrance launches coming later this year,” added Beckham.
