Dawood brother attack: Shooters had three aides

Sources revealed that two men identified by the aliases Rehman and Raju,along with a third associate whose identity is being established,were also present when the attack took place.

Investigations probing Tuesday nights firing outside Iqbal Kaskars residence have learnt that besides the two shooters in police custody,three other men were involved in carrying out the attack.

Syed Bilal Mustafa Ali (29) and Indra Bahudur Khatri (27),who pumped six bullets into Kaskars driver-cum-bodyguard,Arif Syed Abu Bakr outside Damarwala Building,were arrested the same night.

We are now on the lookout for their three accomplices. One of them,identified only as Rehman,is the key to cracking the case as he was the one who paid the two shooters. The other,Raju,scouted the area and pointed out the target to the shooters. The third accomplice kept a watch on Abu Bakr and was responsible for passing information about the right time to attack, said an officer,on condition of anonymity.

Very little information is available about Abu Bakr. From what we know,he was also seen driving a dismissed police inspector,Aslam Momins car, said the officer. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations) Rajkumar Vhatkar,the weapons used by the assailants were bought from a foreign weapon flea market.
