It was around 1989 that Noora left Mumbai and went to the Middle East, where he allegedly assisted Anees in matters related to the Bollywood film industry.
Just a month ago, Noora had approached Keswani asking him to check if there were any cases filed against him. “When I asked him the reason, he said he wanted to return to India. He was longing for it.”
Keswani found two cases, in which he had been named as an absconding accused. The first was a petty case in Tardeo, and in the other, he and 15 others including his brother Iqbal Kaskar were named for the murder of a customs informant in 1998. “This was the same case in which Iqbal was charged when he returned to India from Pakistan. All the accused were acquitted in the case,” adds Keswani.
For neighbours in Mohammed Ali Road, Noora will be remembered for a rather amusing past. “On his wedding night, Noora took his wife to the terrace and he was seen teaching her to fire using an imported revolver,” recalls a neighbour.
In 1991, Pathar Ke Phool, starring Salman Khan and Raveena Tandon, had a song that went “tum se jo dekhte hi pyar hua, zindagi mein pehli baar hua, tum itne din thee kahaan, main dhoondta hi raha.. Kahaan? Kabhi Linking Road, Kabhi Warden Road, Kabhi Cadell Road, Kabhi Peddar Road..”.
“Well. The song was written by Noora,” says Keswani.
