As many as 777 students were admitted to various government schools across the city on the third day of counselling at GMSSS-10 for admission to Class XI. Students in the marks bracket of 73 per cent and above attended the counselling session.
Science stream continued to dominate the proceedings for the third consecutive day while seats in six of the most sought after government schools have already been filled including GMSSS-35 (88.6 per cent), GMSSS-16 (86.2 per cent), GMSSS-37 (82 per cent), GMSSS-33 (81 per cent), GMSSS-19 (80 per cent) and GMSSS- Manimajra Housing Complex (79.6 per cent).
GMSSS-32, with a cut-off of 75.2 per cent, was added to the list today. Out of a total of 3,218 seats available in the Science stream, 2,005 have already been filled.
In the Commerce stream, meanwhile, seats have already been taken up in GMSSS-16 and GMSSS-35. GMSSS-37 also announced the closure of admission today at a cut-off of 75 per cent.
Admission to Humanities and other vocational streams also gained slight momentum on the third day. Nearly 73 seats are still vacant in GMSSS-16 and 90 in GMSSS-35, in the Humanities stream.
Meanwhile, parents accompanying the candidates at the centre were all praises for the elaborate arrangements made by the Education department to ensure adequate drinking water, tents with the provision of air coolers and adequate seating arrangement for the convenience of visitors.
