Demonstrators on Saturday offered Rs 2,000 in cash to personnel posted outside police headquarters,demanding that they be allowed to meet the Commissioner. On Friday,the father of the five-year-old rape victim had alleged that policemen had offered him Rs 2,000 to remain silent. “I have a young daughter and I am concerned about her safety. I want to meet Neeraj Kumar. Let me go inside,” Alka Gupta,a protester from Dharuhera in Haryana,told police. When they refused,she took out two notes of Rs 1,000 and offered it to police officers. Joining her,others too collected money and offered it to policemen to register their protest.
