Meanwhile, the threat to the airport is not over yet and all the airports remain on high alert as Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) had alerted that terrorist could attack from December 3 to December 7, Sunday.
Emergency landing at airport
An Indian Airlines flight made an emergency landing at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport on Friday due to a technical snag.
Delhi-Bangalore flight IC-904 (Airbus-320) took off with 46 people on board at 8.58 pm — soon after take off the pilot informed about the technical snag. Ambulances and fire brigades were at hand as the aircraft landed safely on runway 29 at 9.47 pm.
In another incident earlier in the evening, the tyre of a small aircraft burst due to which runway 29 had to be shut for at least three hours. The tyre of King Air (C-90) VTSLK burst at about 5 pm. “Runway 27 was used for arrivals till this aircraft was removed,” a DIAL spokesperson said. “Arrivals resumed on the runway at 8:15 pm. There were four passengers and two crew members on board. They are absolutely safe,” the official said. During the period, simultaneous operations were maintained on runway 09/27 and 10/28.
