  • The clash between MNS activists and north Indians in Pisavli village that left two north Indians and one MNS worker dead seems to have another angle to it. A day after tension gripped this village, located on the outskirts of Kalyan, Pandharinath, uncle of the slain MNS activist, Gurunath Bhoir, has alleged that Kailas Shinde, a local Shiv Sena corporator, was responsible for the attack and the MNS-north Indian clash was used as tool to exploit the situation and get Gurunath killed. In fact, barely a week ago, Gurunath had complained to the Manpada police that he was anticipating an attack from Shinde.

Shinde was, however, not available for comments and is absconding. “There were no clashes between the MNS and the north Indians till now and we have had cordial relations with the north Indians in our village,” said Gurunath’s uncle.

“It would be difficult to comment on it as probe is on. If we find Shinde’s involvement in this case, we will nab him,” said C S Ughade, Additional Commissioner (East Region) of the Thane police.

The two north Indians killed — Omprakash Dubey (34) and Mayur Dubey (30) — were both homeopathy doctors.

Bhoir, a builder, has an eight-month-old son. Mayur has a 15-day-old daughter and Omprakash is survived by three children.

The incident occurred at the time when MNS chief Raj Thackeray was arrested and kept at the Manpada police station, not far from the village. Pisavli’s population is estimated to be 30,000 and around 60 per cent of the residents are north Indians, a majority of whom stay in houses rented by the locals. Moreshwar Bhoir, MNS Kalyan taluka unit chief, stays in the same village.

    ... contd.

To Miss JignaBy: Salam | 24-Oct-2008 Reply | Forward Please don't talk like a one sided war leader...blame everything on your enemy. You can be blind to the works of your party members but God isn't.
Locals in MaharastraBy: NITIN | 24-Oct-2008 Reply | Forward I fully agree with Raj and approve to what he is doing as other ruling politicians who should care and think about the maharastrians have become dumd spectators towards the feeling of locals in Maharastra. I personally do not agree to the tactics of Raj but fully agree with his views. Unfortunate thing in our country is that the issue is understood by the ruling parties only after an outburst.
who r u to approve ??By: common man | 24-Oct-2008 Reply | Forward What the heck. Who are you to approve MNS actions ? This is happening in every state with the locals, even globally. Open up your mind you narrow minded local.
anti - India Congress By: jigna | 23-Oct-2008 Reply | Forward This is the creation of Sonia,Lalu/Amar singh/Azim and Congress jehadis. They are bent on dividing everybody from Christians to Hindus.Remember this Priya Dutt who has got all worked up with MNS . Does she remember what her brother did to the city. He is acquitted because she manipulated to get a seat in Congress. Now you know the height of corruption. She has been hibernating and then she will start visiting Muslim areas to get their attention. What has she done for anyone? Her brother has a lot of underworld wealth can he make his black contribution to the underprivileged people. Can she answer that? These are all empty words uttered whenever it is time. She is a female goondi. He has been charging 50 crores for being a killer or a goon. Come what may do not be surprised they may come with guns and 100 rs to get your vote. So villages or city people let us all unite and vote them out. We will not hear who is a Hindu or christian. Do away with terrorism and do not vote for Congress.
Anti-India what?By: Raj | 24-Oct-2008 Reply | Forward hahahaha, so it has nothing to do with BJP, RSS or Sena's philosophy, right? Jigna, either get some counseling or say, maya hai, sab kuch maya hai.
High time to regulate intra-state migrationBy: Jay | 23-Oct-2008 Reply | Forward I am not a Marathi but I lived in Mumbai for long. Mumbai-Maharashtra is first for local people and then for others, not vice versa. This is not a specific case for Maharashtra, but many other states like Assam, Bengal etc are also suffering from uncontrolled influx of unskilled and semi-skilled people from outside states. Outsiders are not coming to those states for charity but for their own good. Federal and state governments also should start thinking to implement laws to protect vast diversity of Indian culture, language and also control intra-state migration (something like mandatory job card to get house rent, voter ID, ration card etc.). Semi skilled and un-skilled jobs should only go to outsiders when no suitable candidate is found in the state. People from other states must not be forced to pay high price for total anarchy and lack of development in states like Bihar and UP.
Indian AgonyBy: DemocraticIndia | 24-Oct-2008 Reply | Forward Who is going to control the exodus of MARATHI outside INDIA. Many a marathis are working in USA and should USA govt stop giving visas to Marathis or Indians.First criteria for getting a job should be competence not caste, creed or sect.We are a democratic nation and should not distinguish negatively among ourselves on the basis of region
High time to regulate intra-state migrationBy: madan ghildiyal | 23-Oct-2008 Reply | Forward You are right that there is need to regulate intra-state migration. But are you sure that you will find enough Maharashtrians to work as daily wages as construction workers. I hail from poor state but even there locals do not come forward to do manual works. Neither they do in Punjab which is rich state. Stop migration at your own risk.
With stringent laws, intra-state migration will happen but without much of its negative impact on local people By: Jay | 23-Oct-2008 Reply | Forward I understand what you are saying. But that's not the case right now. There may be some cases, in some specific sectors that there is not enough local people but that must not be the argument for not implementing rules to control intra-state migration. If a specific sector is not getting suitable candidate for any job, THEN ONLY that job will go to outsider and there are specific ways to prove it (as done in many countries like Switzerland). And in such cases the salary and other benefits must remain the same. Lower salary-benefit must not be used to lure people from outside state depriving local people. Be assured that there will be no shortage of any workers, mainly semiskilled and unskilled sector even if we implement very strict intra-state migration laws. In Swiss, many Indians and East Europeans are migrating there to do many “dirty” jobs despite of very strict laws and without much opportunity to get citizenship there. If Biharis and UPites find working in Mumbai feel more safe and prosperous than other options they have, they will not hesitate to undertake and abide by all such rules. And it’s upto Mumbai and MH to remain attractive to others to get manpower. In that case both migration problem will be solved and quality of life in Mumbai-MH and Bihar-UP will improve.
