Death penalty for rapists: Anna

PUNE: Extending his support to protesting youths who are demanding justice for the Delhi gangrape victim, activist Anna Hazare on Sunday called for death penalty for rapists. He said that he will fight along with the youths to make sure that the 23-year-old victim gets justice. "If culprits are hanged then nobody will dare to commit such crimes. We will keep fighting for justice," said Hazare demanding fast-track trials against such crimes.

'They should be stoned to death'

SRINAGAR: Terming the Delhi gangrape as shameful and inhuman, Hurriyat hardliner Syed Ali Shah Geelani has said the accused "should be stoned to death". "Whatever has happened with our daughter in Delhi has wounded our hearts," Geelani said. "We are very sad." "Today this incident has happened in New Delhi and people have come out on the streets," Geelani said. "But when hundreds of gangrapes happened in Kashmir in past 22 years, no one in India raised his voice."
