Kiran alleged in her suicide note that her neighbours — Savitri Ashokbhai,Ashok Devjibhai,Ansuya Navin,Navin Devji and Ketan Ashok — had defamed her character, insinuating often that she had affairs with several persons, though she was married and had a son. Police said Kiran doused herself and Parth with kerosene when Kapil and his parents had gone out. After he returned,Kapil found the two in flames and tried to save them.

Police said they found a note “read the inside wall” scribbled on the entrance wall, when they reached her home. On the inside wall,Kiran had scribbled the names of her five neighbours, whom she accused of harassment.

Police have registered a complaint of attempted suicide and murder against Kiran.
