Five days after the lower half of a man's body was found in a bag in the Defence Colony area, police claimed to have identified the victim on Thursday. The man has been identified as Prakash, a security guard employed with Clear Security Services, who was posted at a bank in B K Dutt Colony near Karbala.
The police, however, are still clueless about who cut the body after committing the murder. Police have not been able to recover the upper half of the body yet.
According to police sources, Prakash was first abducted around 6.30 pm and then murdered. Police have traced the CCTV footage of the area which shows Prakash on duty till about 6.30 pm, after which he went missing. His he was supposed to be at the bank till 8 pm. It was also found that he made the last call from his cellphone from near the bank and his phone was switched off after he was abducted from the area. Police said they suspect that he was murdered on the night of his abduction.
His body was found on Saturday morning, wearing a pair of black trousers with a 'CSS' batch.
"This clue helped us narrow down on a few companies and finally identify the victim. We have registered a case of murder. From the way Prakash has been murdered, it seems that the he had strong enmity with the accused. We are investigating the case from all angles," a senior police officer said.
Prakash, a resident of Sarojini Nagar, is survived by
his wife and two daughters, police said.
