Delhi blast: NIA team takes Kishtwar probe to Chandigarh

While the agency initially thought it had a “breakthrough” in the case,the team in Chandigarh has been asked to carry out discrete enquiries about the two youths.

“Both of them are students of a private college in Chandigarh and had visited Kishtwar a few days before the blast,” said an NIA official. The sleuths also suspect that the two have affiliations with a religious organisation that has a presence world over.

Sources in the NIA said one of the youths has gone missing from Chandigarh and they are now in the process of contacting his family members. The other youth has,however,denied any affiliation with any religious body. His movements during the first week of September are now being checked.

“He can also be asked to come to New Delhi while efforts to trace second youth is under way,” said the NIA official.

The NIA team camping in Kishtwar was joined by DIG Mukesh Singh,who is the head of the 20-member NIA probe team. The agency so far has arrested four persons,including Abbas and Hilal Amin. The two were arrested following disclosures by the arrested Class XI students of Islamia Faridia Higher Secondary School — Abid Hussain and Shariq Ahmed.

The police have taken those arrested on a seven-day remand.
