Shariq Ahmed,a Class XI student of Islamia Faridia Higher Secondary School in Kishtwar,who was in police custody in connection with the bomb blast outside Delhi High Court for the last 12 days,was finally released by Jammu Kashmir Police on Friday night.
Sources said that this followed clean chit to the boy from National Investigation Agency (NIA) in the matter. Shariq was among three teenagers arrested by police in Kishtwar in connection with the Delhi bomb blast which killed 15 people and injured 80 others on September 7.
After their questioning for nearly a fortnight,though the NIA team took only two Aamir Abbas and Abid Hussain to Delhi. Shariq continued to remain in custody of state police at Kishtwar. To keep him in custody until the formal clearance of his name by NIA in the matter,it had even got his police remand extended for another six days from a local court in Kishtwar.
“Last night,Kishtwar Senior Superintendent of Police,Bhim Sen Tuti,called me to his office to handover my son. He is fine and in good health, Rafi Ahmad said,adding that the boy has gone to his maternal grand parents’ house.
