Delhi Police on Wednesday claimed to have busted a fake visa racket with the arrest of three persons. "The trio were arrested from near Lajpat Nagar metro station when they came there to deliver a passport with fake Visa," a senior police official said. The arrested have been identified as Jasbir Singh (39),Simranjeet Singh (40) and Ashok Kumar Kataria (46),he said adding that fake visa stickers,two laptops and Rs 50,000 were recovered from their possession. The gang allegedly has cheated people of their money by assuring them that they would provide them travel visas to foreign countries. The group used to contact prospective client by posing themselves as travel agents and would ask huge money for arranging Visa to Canada and other European countries,the official said. They first called the prospective applicant to their office in Delhi and do the formalities of filling in the applications. "Later they used inform the victim that the embassy was not issuing the visa and some additional money is required to be deposited to get the document. Victims were even asked to verify their status on website," the official said.
