Delhi races against time for C'Wealth Games

    2010 Commonwealth Games
    Delhi government is implementing various schemes in its effort to give the city a facelift before the Commonwealth Games.

    The opposition BJP, which later said that it would vociferously raise water and power crisis issues during the session was, however, quiet and did not disrupt the Governor's address. Leader of Opposition in the Assembly V K Malhotra told reporters that the address was "lacklusture" and said it did not mention about the water and power crisis in the city which has made lives of the people miserable. Before the address began, leaders from Congress and the opposition exchanged pleasantries and Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and her ministerial colleagues went to the opposition benches to greet members on the other side.

DAL by GOVT is supplied in PLASTICBAG , some Govt deptts are supplying rationsto their employees( IN DELHI).May be GOVT GAZETTE has not REACHED these GOVT OFFICES ? 2. GOVT DEPTT should BAN plasticbag FIRST to avoid contempt of court , and DELHI POLICE should activate it's POLICEMAN to catch the VIOLATORS /POLLUTERS. 3 It appears that the BAN is just like a REALITY SHOWon Telivision ( Rakhi Ka Swayambar)= PLASTICBAG KA BAN

    Shame on those that select Delhi repeatedly for major sporting events. Delhi had Commonwealth games before, they should have let another city be the venue this time so that the youth of the country can be inspired .By: S,Balakrishnan | 15-Jun-2009 Reply | Forward It is a shame that every major sporting events have to take place in Delhi. There are other places in India and the bureaucrats want an easy entrance and hence schedule all events in Delhi. Other cities must have their chances as well so that people all around the country can see and be inspired. No wonder India fares so low in sports. We do not let the youth across the country to see major sporting events and the bureaucrats want the pleasure and deprive the population overall the incentive and knowledge and thirst to excell in sports. Shame on these people who rob India of greatness.
