Delhi Police filed two fresh chargesheets against eight suspected Indian Mujahideen (IM) terrorists for allegedly carrying out the September 13 serial blasts in the Capital.

In the chargesheets, the police named Mohd Saif, Zeeshan Ahmed, Zia-ur-Rehman, Saquib Nissar, Mohd Shakeel, Mohd Sadiq Sheikh, Qumuddin Kapadia and Mohd Hakim as the accused.

The chargesheets were filed in connection with the blast at Central Park in Connaught Place and the recovery of live bombs near India Gate in New Delhi.

A case over the blast was registered at Connaught Place police station. A case over the recovery of live bombs from India Gate was registered at Tilak Marg police station.

The chargesheets were filed in the court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kaweri Baweja which put them for consideration on March 4.

Three persons were killed and 39 were left injured in the blast at Central Park on September 13 last year. However, no casualty or injury was caused in connection with the case registered with Tilak Marg police station.

The police also filed two supplementary chargesheets against Sheikh, Kapadia and Hakim in connection with the blast cases registered at Karol Bagh and Greater Kailash police stations.

The police invoked various sections of the IPC, including waging war against the country, in the chargesheets. The accused were also charged under various sections of the Explosive Substances Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. The police identified 29 persons as accused in the chargesheets.
