The city witnessed 12 confirmed dengue positive cases on Thursday taking the total number of cases being reported this season to 272. Last year, 73 cases of dengue were reported while the in 2010, 193 cases of dengue were reported in the entire season. Meanwhile, the Malaria Wing of Health Department has enhanced its field activities for the prevetion and control of dengue. The Malaria Wing with intensified house to house activities surveyed and checked 2015 hoses, 842 coolers, 246 tyres, 94 overhead tanks and 691containers. Four notices were issued to the defaulters for creating mosquitogenic situations on Thursday. Focal fogging was done in Sector 18, Sector 48 and SD College Sector 32. These fogging operations are being carried out in the presence of area councillor/ office bearers.
