INHS Kasturi, the Naval hospital at Lonavala, recently conducted a free dental health programme at Antar Bharti Balgram, Bhushi Dam. Commodore PJ Rangachari, Station Commander, Naval Base, Lonavala inaugurated the programme, a press release issued by INS Shivaji said.
"Commodore PJ Rangachari emphasised the need for dental health awareness among young children. Surgeon Captain Ratna Mahendra, Commanding Officer, INHS Kasturi assured all those requiring follow-up would be taken to the dental centre at INHS Kasturi in the coming days.
Surgeon Lt Commander (D) CM Zameer Ahmed, Officer-in-Charge, Dental Centre, INHS Kasturi gave a talk on common dental problems among growing children and how a healthy diet was essential for health.
Correct brushing method and maintenance of oral hygiene was explained to the children gathered.
This basic dental outreach programme to the marginalised community can go a long way in improving their quality of life and health," the press release added.
International Security lecture on January 3
Centre for Advanced Strategic Studies in association with YASHADA, will hold Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Lecture on 'A Gandhian Perspective on International Security' on January 3. Ambassador P A Nazareth, IFS (Retd), Managing Trustee, Sarvodaya International Trust, Bangalore will deliver the lecture. A press release issued by Centre for Advanced Strategic Studies said, "Nazareth will also interact with the members after the lecture. Madhav Godbole, IAS (Retd) President of the Governing Council of the Centre will chair the event." The event will be held at the New Auditorium, YASHADA, Raj Bhavan Complex, Baner Road. The programme will begin at 5.30.
